Mapping roles on external repositories

This page explains how to map D1 roles to external roles on CMIS and Documentum repositories.

When you configure a connection to an external repository, you need to ensure that D1 users have the correct privileges when working with the external repository. This is where role mapping becomes necessary.

  1. Log in to D1, and open the D1 Administrator:
  2. Select an external repository (CMIS or Documentum) and click Details.
  3. In the Connection section, select the Role Mappings.
  4. Click the context menu, and then select Add.
  5. Click Create New, and complete the following fields:
    • ADx Role - enter the remote role name
    • Remote password - enter a password of the remote user
    • Remote Username - enter a name of the remote user.
  6. Click Create&Add.
  7. Select the added user role in the bottom section, and then map it with one of D1 roles.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. After you add a mapping, synchronize the repository.

Assuming that you want to map ADxAdmin role to an ExternalAdmin user existing in the connected CMIS repository, perform steps shown in the following video:

Video version

Note that some of the UI components shown in this video might have changed as the video was created based on a older version of the D1.

With this configuration in place, you will be able to connect to CMIS as any user with the ADxAdmin role, using the ExternalAdmin credentials.
