Mapping roles on external repositories
This page explains how to map D1 roles to external roles on CMIS and Documentum repositories.
When you configure a connection to an external repository, you need to ensure that D1 users have the correct privileges when working with the external repository. This is where role mapping becomes necessary.
- Log in to D1, and open the D1 Administrator:
- Select an external repository (CMIS or Documentum) and click Details.
- In the Connection section, select the Role Mappings.
- Click the context menu, and then select Add.
- Click Create New, and complete the following fields:
- ADx Role - enter the remote role name
- Remote password - enter a password of the remote user
- Remote Username - enter a name of the remote user.
- Click Create&Add.
- Select the added user role in the bottom section, and then map it with one of D1 roles.
- Click Finish.
- After you add a mapping, synchronize the repository.
Assuming that you want to map ADxAdmin
role to an ExternalAdmin
user existing in the connected CMIS repository, perform steps shown in the following video:
Video version
Note that some of the UI components shown in this video might have changed as the video was created based on a older version of the D1.
With this configuration in place, you will be able to connect to CMIS as any user with the ADxAdmin role, using the ExternalAdmin credentials.
